Even though grit has been put down Some areas of the pavements Are stupidly slippery….
Several people have been injured…
You can buy crampons To pull onto your shoes these make a big difference….
They are just metal spirals Or small studs Rather than the big metal spikes Used by rock climbers…

Their defence Is that failing to reopen the slope Would have cost them up to 400 thousand euros As tour operators Would have moved clients To resorts with more open slopes

One to watch is 24-year-old Victoria Palla
She has a British father And Austrian mother So in the spirit of family fairness She skied for Austria until she was 16 But since then, has skied for Team GB.

A 42-year-old speed rider Crash landed off piste in our Manchet valley at the weekend.
A witness immediately Alerted our pisteurs so he was quickly Found and helicoptered to hospital With back, pelvic and abdominal injuries.
A few days earlier Someone was parapenting And landed in a tree.
Luckily uninjured
He jumped down Left his parapent in the tree And walked home.
If you do have an accident
Or start an avalanche But ski out of it uninjured
Please Always let the ski patrollers Know That it has happened And that everyone is OK So they don’t waste Time and money Risking their lives Searching for No reason.

A terrible accident happened in Austria last week… A sixty-four-year-old Czech teacher On a school trip Crashed into a tree In front of his students And died on the way to hospital.
