Lots of news from the World Cup Slalom in Levi at the weekend. Val's own reigning Olympic Champion Clément Noël came 2nd in his first race since he was injured last year.
Team GB for the first time had 4 skiers in the same race, 3 ended up in the top 30, 2 in the top 10 with 38 year old Dave Ryding 7th and Laurie Taylor had a career best of 4th. Billy Major came 27th.
Luca Carrick-Smith had a brave debut but didn't finish.
Brazil had their first ever World Cup victory, when Lucas Pinheiro Braathen won.
He named his reindeer Bjørn in honour of his father.
Lindsey Vonn, in her spare time, when not training for her 5th Olympics, has launched a ski wear collection made by Head.
After months of doubt and worry Marcel Hirscher says he will race again in January.
31-year-old French champion Cyprien Sarrazin won't be racing this season but will be in Val, as a spectator, for the Criterium in December.
23-year-old Caitlin McFarlane came 13th on Saturday.....for France !

The men’s racing was exciting…. Val’s Reigning Olympic Champion Clément Noël Was back after injury And came an impressive 2nd.
Meanwhile…. 2 out of the 4 Team GB racers Were in the top 10 And 3 in the top 30.
It is the first time Team GB Have had four skiers in a World Cup race And only the 2nd time We have had 2 top 10 ers In a World Cup event….
29-year-old Laurie Taylor came fourth, His career best While 38-year-old Dave Ryding, 7th And Billy Major 27th.
The race was won By Lucas Pinheiro Braathen Who you will remember Previously raced for Norway. Briefly retired Now is racing for Brazil.
This was Brazil’s first ever World cup victory !
He sweetly named The reindeer he won Bjørn After his Norwegian father.

36-year-old Marcel Hirscher Has shared that He will race again in January… You will remember That he retired Then returned to racing But an ACL tear In training last December Put a stop to last season….
He hit rock bottom Not sure if he would be Able to risk racing
He is now clearly feeling more optimistic.

We won’t see 31-year-old French champion Cyprien Sarrazin Racing this season As he is still recovering After his terrible crash last December.
His head and knee Are getting there…
Just won’t be ready for speed.
he says he is going to put skis on soon…. Small steps, turns and schusses…..
He is coming, as a spectator To Critérium next month in Val…
