Why not think ahead…. Are you going to be trying out several resorts this winter…. Have you considered buying a multi-resort pass………if you buy it in the next few days you can save a lot of money. Epic and Ikon are just two ....
If you are heading to the Olympics…Accommodation prices are high……..though also be suspicious of those that are lower than they normally are.
When planning your trip, if you ski in prescription glasses, consider goggle inserts instead…….

I am not a weather scientist

Yesterday morning I thought I had
got it
All wrong
Until I was soaked !
Today is more of the same
Though perhaps a bit brighter at times.
It was a grey Saturday …
Yesterday was international animal day …
And bookshop day
And cinnamon roll day
AND USA National
Taco day
And Vodka day…..
Where do these celebrations come from?
I thought it might all be a joke
So looked it up…
Today is World Teachers Day.
That is a profession worth celebrating.
Over the pond……
In the US of A……

SERIOUSLY ??
Then I read that
It is a celebration of creativity.
music, dance, fashion, or art
or unusual food.
Suddenly I approve !
Every day I do a little more

When it comes to moving ski kit
I do manage to boot up and
Carry my skis across the road
to the bus stop…….
It is a VERY long time
since I have taken

However, I am lucky to live here……..

Can be bought now, at a reduced price………
And when we consider a day pass in Vail
Can be over three hundred dollars…
More than two hundred and fifty euros.
Yes, one day….
A reduction Is very attractive……..
if you add up all those odd days here and there
Could work out CHEAP !
Using ‘cheap’ as applied to skiing…..Not ‘real life’………….
"Better value" probably a better term…
For SOME REASON I thought
Val was included in one of those passes
But can’t see it …..
Maybe it was And now isn’t
Or maybe, Maybe I was mistaken !

Your credit card may SCREAM…
At the moment
The price for accommodation
Is a
Little
Higher than normal….
Three nights
For four people
From ten thousand
To
Ninety thousand euros !
Once again
Buyer beware………
An Airbnb for the same time
Was advertised for under
Two thousand euros….
Normally it would be twice that amount……
Possibly a scam ? Who knows……
Sometimes it is worth
Hanging on ……
For other Olympics,
Accommodation would have remained empty
If prices hadn’t Dropped at the last moment….
That gamble is yours !
When you are planning your winter
Maybe visiting
The Snow Show
Or writing to Santa …
One piece of kit
That is worth spending money on
Good quality goggles
Protect your eyes in bright sunlight
And
Allow you to see
At least a bit
The most anyone can see
In flat light…
I know some people bravely or foolishly
Always ski in sunglasses.
Great when it is just sunny and warm…….
But when it is snowing, windy or cold
your eyes stream, the tears can freeze into frost bite
Just not very pleasant……
If you wear prescription glasses under goggles
Uncomfortable, they dig into your nose and side of head
And googles can steam up
I have seen many friends struggle……
You can get prescription goggles
Another added cost
Especially if you don’t ski often
So I was interested to

Can remove if wearing contact lenses

Annecy firemen had a challenge :
